Who told Raghuram that there are some UGC qualifications for VC's Position? Your political connection is enough.

Congratulations. The appointment of an English Professor to this southern university will make it more progressive and tolerent.Best wishes to new VC.

Prof Kalyani said in her first interview that previous year faculty appointments would be investigated. Everybody in TN knows that the price of Asst professor position was Rs 15 lacs and Asso Professor was 22 lacs during the previous VC's tenure. The previous VC has occupied the position with just one 'required' qualification. He is the son-in-law of a former DMK minister. He has looted the university by selling academic positions openly. The previous VC of MS University in Tirunelveli is a noted politician and a strong member of DMK. People can understand how these people have occupied the top positions and ruined the credibility of academic system.

She does not have publication, project, foreign visit, guidance, Ph D guidance and research. It is such a worst politics ever I see
Nevertheless she never qualifies according to UGC.
And still she is an Associate Professor see
Really it is a bad time for MKU. Lot of Professor having high profile in MKU it self (i.e Prof. Kundala Jeyaraman, Prof. K. Dharmalingam and Prof. D. J. Pandiyan.

What Karunanithii did in previous, Jayalalitha just follow.
Unless she would rather change her vision toward higher education (i.e appointing a prestigious scholar in to a VC position with high academic profile) no one can save higher education in Tamil-Nadu

we must be happy to see that a good lady faculty from a strong ,powerful background without any black mark had taken over as VC of one of the top univ. of T.N like M.K.U instead of culprits with bad image in teaching society .

The teaching community and students of tamil nadu will be more happy if they see a well qualified person (as per norms), who are thousands in numbers in tamil nadu as VC to some small universities in tamil nadu, who is selected merely on merit basis basis, without manpower or money
