Himachal Pradesh government has warned teachers for not joining duty in remote areas.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh warned of strict action against government school teachers who do not join duty in remote and far-flung areas of the state.
He said directions had been issued to them to either join at the school they were posted at or submit their resignation.
At the same time, Virbhadra requested young teachers to serve in remote and far-flung areas, saying that people need their services there and that teachers were held in high esteem and respected by people in such areas.
The CM's statement came at a public meeting at Samej in Pandra-Beesh area of Shimla district, after he inaugurated a primary health centre building, ToI reported.
